Hey Everybody! Did you guys miss me? I have been super swamped with school, getting settled into my new place and of course dealing with Nylah! I did miss you all a TON though, and I'm excited to be back and posting again, especially because of what I'll be sharing today.
If you follow me on Instagram you saw that last month I worked with a company called Lone Body for their #wearadifferenthue campaign to raise awareness for breast cancer. This month I am back ready to review a few of their products they sent to me and Nylah.
A little background for those who aren't already in the know- Lone Body is a natural deodorant company started by eight siblings with a long-standing family history in natural healing. They grew up with awareness of the negative effects of using deodorants with toxic chemicals, but as they got older, they became discouraged as they searched for a natural one that was actually effective. After their father discovered using dead sea salt as the main ingredient seemed to work well, the business officially began.
That's a cute story, right? That's not why you're here though, right? You want the whole ass truth. From me, Jessica. Who was raised in a single parent household with a mother who chain-smoked in the house, and purchased Suave body wash and deodorant regularly. Is it possible that Lone would work for someone who has been exposed to everything chemical based since before birth?
Disclaimer - I've changed my lifestyle dramatically in the past few months or so, and I am slowly on a journey towards being a happier, healthier version of myself, but I still struggle.
I'm here to tell you that this company all around has made natural hygiene, so easy for me. & yes, it works.
My three favorite deodorants as of late are the Sweet Lavender, Mint, and Citrus.
I'm not going to lie, I was extremely hesitant about the Citrus one. My prior experience with natural deodorants was that they made me extremely musty, to be honest, so the thought of something Citrus had me like oh hell no!
But just like everything else in this products line-up, it worked effectively.
It can be hot or cold, high intensity or low intensity, and I smell WONDERFUL. Y'all, I lasted a whole ass day at Disneyland with a toddler and I was fine.
They don't just have deodorants either. Their chapsticks are AMAZING, so hydrating and I don't feel bad about letting Nylah using them because I know the ingredients are safe!
These are so hydrating and affordable they are the perfect addition to your purse or everyday beautify regimen!
I know that EVERYONE doesn't like sugary scents, however, I personally am OBSESSED with the Chocolate Mint lotion.
Dealing with a child I am CONSTANTLY washing my hands and aside from the amazing smell, it actually keeps my hands extremely moisturized.
It is SO chocolatey and minty I just want to eat my own hands up! For those who are not super fond of a heavy chocolate scent, they have a lighter and warmer Chai scent that will hydrate you just the same!
We have to start making better decisions for our bodies guys! The information is available to us now so we have to make sure we are utilizing it, no excuses!
The antiperspirants in your deodorants are labeled by the FDA as an over the counter drug! Can you freaking believe that?!
While there isn't substantially enough research done on it as a whole, there has been enough research done on it to tie antiperspirants directly to breast cancer!
Why are we still doing this to ourselves when we clearly have better options that WORK?
We can live chemically free without disruption to our hygienic lives.
I challenge you to change your deodorant out today for a Lone deodorant for yourself, and also grab another product for a family member or friend to spread awareness of what this is all about!
Plus the holidays are just around the corner, so these are the perfect affordable stocking stuffers to incite change with!
Guess what else?!
